Terms of sale

Last updated 11 October 2026. These terms apply when you buy a licence for the LocatorZero desktop app. "We" means LocatorZero; "you" means the person buying or using the licence.

In short: try everything free for 90 days. If you then buy, you get a licence key that unlocks the desktop app offline. Subscriptions can be cancelled any time, and you can get a full refund within 14 days of any payment.

Who sells to you

Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the seller of record (merchant of record). Lemon Squeezy takes your payment, issues your invoice or receipt, and collects and pays sales tax or VAT where it applies. Its own buyer terms apply to the payment itself. These terms cover what you are buying from us: the licence and how it works.

What is free

• The web app at locatorzero.pages.dev is free to use.
• The desktop app is free for 90 days from the day you first open it, with every feature. No account and no payment details are needed for the trial.

Plans and prices

• Monthly: US$3 a month, renewed automatically each month until you cancel.
• Pro: US$25 a year, renewed automatically each year until you cancel.
• Lifetime: US$35 once. Covers version 1 of the desktop app, including every update within version 1 (releases numbered 0.x and 1.x). A future version 2, if there is one, is not included.

Prices are shown before tax. Depending on where you live, tax may be added at checkout, and the checkout may show the price in your local currency. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay. We may change prices for new purchases; a change to a subscription's price applies from your next renewal, and we will tell you before it does.

Your licence key

• After you pay, you receive a licence key. Paste it into the desktop app under Plans to unlock it.
• The key is checked offline, inside the app. LocatorZero never contacts us or anyone else to check it.
• The key contains only your plan, the order reference and its dates. It does not contain your name, email address or payment details.
• One licence is for one person, on the computers that person uses. Please don't share or publish your key.
• Monthly and Pro keys are valid for the period you paid for, plus a few days' grace. Each renewal gives you a fresh key. Lifetime keys do not expire.
• If you lose your key, email us with your order number and we will send it again.

Cancelling a subscription

You can cancel Monthly or Pro at any time from the link in your receipt email, or by emailing us. Cancelling stops future payments. Your current key keeps working until the end of the period you have already paid for. When a key expires, the desktop app pauses searching your computer until a new key is entered. Nothing is deleted, and the web app remains free.

Refunds

You can get a full refund within 14 days of any payment. See the refund policy for how.

Use of the software

Your use of LocatorZero is also covered by the LocatorZero Source-Available License. In brief: you may use the app with a valid licence, and read and audit its source code, but you may not redistribute it or work around the licence check.

Our commitments, and their limits

LocatorZero reads file names, browser history and similar information on your own computer, only in places you allow, and never changes your files. We work hard to make it reliable, but it is provided "as is": we cannot promise it will find every item or be free of errors. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim about LocatorZero is limited to the amount you paid for it in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded.

Your privacy

The app sends nothing from your device. How purchases are handled is explained in the privacy policy.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the date at the top changes too. Changes apply to purchases made after that date. Any change that affects an active subscription applies from your next renewal, and we will tell you first.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
